The City of Monmouth has partnered with Nixle to implement its Community Notification System to alert residents in real-time for localized emergency situation and relevant community advisories. There are three types of message: Alerts, Advisory, and Community. In general, the Alerts would come from the Police Department for emergency situation; Advisory messages from Power & Light or Public Works regarding outages, street work, etc.; and Community messages from City Hall would include event reminders, holiday closures, etc.
As a resident, there are several simple ways to register: 1) Text your ZIPCODE to 888777 from your mobile phone. 2) Go to www.ci.monmouth.or.us and sign up via the Nixle Widget.
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation text to your mobile device. Alert setting may be customized by going to www.nixle.com and creating a User Profile. The service is secure, reliable and easy to use for our organization.
All alerts will be targeted geographically, allowing residents to receive localized, relevant alerts from the City of Monmouth. Nixle Alerts can be sent via text, email, voice, web, social media, and the Nixle mobile app in an instant. We are very excited to have you experience it for yourself.
